We are now buried in 20 meter tunnels underground necklocked to traps that wll collapse when tampered with or if we want to pull on cords !!!!!.......Starting this Friday til Sunday... Force Ten { Belfast } Sound sytem wtih Deviant sound system and many other people from other sound systems lending a hand.. Dj`s include RACHEL RACKETT { Stay Up Forever Records, UK }.. Loose Unit { Belfast }.. Force Ten Dj`s and too many other to mention plus other BIG suprise guests !!.. Bands also playing in round house plus films, videos being shown and poetry being recited.. Food available and tea coffee etc..

I`v been up there all week and things are comming to a head !!.. There`s been constact attack of bulldozers on the hill itself.. One of the girls has been arrested and more to come.. We are desperate and need as much support as possible !!.. Checkout the article on Indy Media Ireland !!.. Please come up and join the protest !!!.. It was very scarey as there was only 6 of us on site and they brought a paddy wagon which could have seen all of site behind bars !!.. We need your help, so please come and support us.. The Hill of Tara { http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hill_of_Tara } in Ireland is being dug up and destroyed every day by a Government who seems to care more about a new motorway,the M3 { http://www.m3motorway.ie/ } then preserving a site which was once where in Celtic and Pre-Celtic times the High Kings of Ireland used have their castles . It is a beautiful place full of history and ancient spirit.It was where The Fianna fought their last battle and where Nuada the high King of The Tuatha De Danann { http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuatha_D%C3%A9_Danann } had his castle.

This really is very important. There are only 15 days left to register your objection to the 'Pay as you go' road tax - which closes to petitions on the 20th February 2007. The petition is on the 10 Downing St website but they didn't tell anybody about it. Therefore at this time only 671,354 people have signed it so far and 750,000 signatures are required to stop them introducing it.  .Great news !!. I can confirm that Crystal Distortion is comming over to play TWO GIGS for us on March 16th and 17th " St. Patricks Weekend. The first gig on Friday 16th is at " RADIO CITY " ISAAC BUTTS, STORE ST, ACROSS FROM BUSARUS, DUBLIN 1 and the second on Paddys Day Sat 17th is at " An Cruiscin Lan " Cork .. Already now there are numerous actions, which mobilize to the events of protest against the G8-summit. Because of the 100.000 expected demonstrators at the Main Manifestation in the Rostock City at 2nd of June 2007 the policeforces are preparing since some time their operation and security plan for the whole region and for Rostock.  The Benefit gig thrs night the 21st Dec has been changed to support the family of a young man who was found dead in a police cell in Dublins inner city. Terence Wheelock`s body was found covered in bruises and police CLAIM he committed suicide. The money raised is going to fund the families case to open an independent inquiry. A new Indymedia film addressing the situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon has been released. With radical activists joining the local community for the long haul, the Rossport Solidarity Camp's long-term presence has reduced the impact of these smears, so an article targeting the camp is a welcome development for both Shell and its Government. The Spring of 2002 saw the 10th anniversary of the now legendary Castlemorton Free Festival, the biggest and most notorious free party ever to take place in the UK. The anniversary was celebrated on Jubilee weekend with a massive Teknival on Steart Beach in Somerset. At least 50 rigs and 10, 000 party people gathered on the beach for a five day party to commemorate the creativity and determination of the original sound systems and to celebrate 10-years of underground rave culture. At a time when most of the country was being bored shitless with television specials about the anniversary of the coronation, the Castlemorton anniversary was a powerful reminder that real culture grows from the ground up, and that to stay alive it has to constantly mutate.
It's important to remember Castlemorton because that was where the battle lines were drawn up for many of the struggles of the last decade. The government clampdown that followed the festival , which beagn with the arrest and prosecution of of members of Spiral Tribe for their involvement in the event and culminated in the 1994 Criminal Justice Act, made it clear that the authorities saw the emerging free party community not as just a nuisance but as a political threat. In the following article, one of the defendents in the Castlemorton trial explains the history, and the connection of the free party movement to other struggles to reclaim public space for public use. |
