Interview With Ixindamix Concerning CzechTek Etc...

Good morning !!..... I`m just gonna ask say 3 questions and well take your time and write whatever you want and feel ... First here`s something to chew on..... Here`s the statement by the Czech crews Here`s the message and I quote !!! "In regard of the fact that the situation around CzechTek isn't bearable anymore, the representatives of Czech freetekno community came to this radical decision:

This year (and very probably even never again) any action of the size and under the name CzechTek won't be realized.

And these are the reasons:
• the gradual abolition of original ideas of freetekno
• parasitic behavior of subjects not connected to the scene (including major part of visitors themselves)
• disability and reluctance to respect elementary principles of behavior in a shared space

Ques 1.......... You helped start the first CzechTek in 1994 !!. What was ye`re ideology behind organising Teknivals back then ??........................
We first invented the concept of teknivals in France in 93,The idea was to create an alternative to the free festivals in England where there was a conflict between travellers and soundsystems about the playing of loud nonstop music.Also it was important for us to hold 2 annual events as meeting points where we could invite people from our newly formed european underground network to keep the connections going before the use of internet and mobile phones. .The czechtek became one of these the other was the new years celebration.





Ques 2......... Presently !!.. How do you feel about the Czech crews cancelling the CzechTek and they`re reasons for it and how do you feel about the large Teknivals now, is the original spirit still there ??..........................

Quite honestly a big Teknival with thousands of people and non stop hard tek is not my idea of a satisfactory raving experience,but each to their own and I don't want to put down anyone's moves , musically of course it's all down to personal taste but as a mother of 2 i would be forced to seek out more family friendly events.

I respect the decision of the czech soundsystems as so many of them have agreed on this.
If teknivals become a fashion instead of a passion,it's time to go back underground.




Ques 3............. The future !!.. As there seems to be alot of change going on and a bit of disillusionment with large Teknivals.. What advice would you give the organisers and how would you like to see the future of Teknivals and freepartys in general.. Do you have a message ??..................

The need to party,play music and connect with other members of the race is a natural human instinct and no laws or anything else will ever stop us from doing this.


I am not getting involved in any organising any more, after all the raves that i have helped to put on i don't have any enthusiasm for this side of parties, now i just want to play music - as much and for as long as possible!!!!
Advice to other organisers? - sort it out as well as we did!!!!!! I'll be there with my tunes
