Activists in Denmark have attempted to squat a replacement for the occupied social centre Ungdomshuset which was evicted over six months ago. Throughout the day, thousands of people on the streets in Copenhagen have been meeting heavy police repression, with the result of a total of 436 arrets according to Danish mainstream media. Action Grøndalsvænge Allé 13 (AktionG13) is an initiative based in and around the movement for a new youth house. We started with a single objective; to get a new youth house. We’ve been looking at empty buildings in Copenhagen for a long time now, and we’ve ended up picking the house at Grøndalsvænge Allé 13 for the purpose. Free4Alternatives Free4Alternatives is an activist group originating from the Free Spaces scene (Free Parties, Teknivals, Squats, Traveller sites, TAZ...) who stand together to fight against the growing restrictions on our liberties and to fight for autonomy and the right to live an alternative existence. We will attempt to assemble our scene at the blockades and protests against the G8 2007 summit, which will be held from 2nd - 8th June in Heiligendamm (Rostock, Germany), and plan to organise a Free Artistic Space there. |
